Chapter Two: From MBAs4NYC To MBAs4Katrina |
MBAs4Katrina is a project undertaken by its parent organization, a New York 501c3 non-profit, designed to provide pro-bono business assistance to small business owners in the areas impacted by Hurricane Katrina, including Southeast Louisiana, Coastal Mississippi, and Greater Mobile.
The organization, formed in 2002 with a $250,000 grant from the State of New York, is an extension and revival of a previous organization, MBAs4NYC, which was successful in providing 3000+ hours of volunteer consulting assistance to 90 New York City small businesses affected by the September 11th terrorist attack on the World Trade Center.
Currently, we are revising our focus and mission to meet the unique needs of small businesses recovering from Hurricane Katrina's destruction. Our first program, starting in early 2006, is our Roadmap Service.
